Blog 7: Visual perspectives

DO VISUAL MEDIA WORK DIFFERENTLY TO OTHER MEDIA FORMS?

Different media forms have different strengths and weaknesses. Much like how public relation practitioners are shifting from using traditional media such as newspapers to social networking, they can have potential to reach a specific audience and quantity of it. Visual media works very differently as it allows us to see things instead of using our imagination or mental functions to conjure up what things should look like. Its like reading a novel compared to reading a comic book.

I forgot to mention that different media forms have their own lingo, their own set of rules. In traditional text we have statistics and numbers. But in other forms of media, we have other ways of doing things like images. Images can have their own meanings. Something that numbers could not do.
